Hi everyone!
It’s been just over two weeks since Wicked Serve made its way into the world, and it’s been—to put it lightly—a whirlwind of a time. I went on tour, I hung out with friends old and new, I signed lots of books and met so many wonderful readers (and my publishing team!) and ate lots of yummy food… and when I got home last Friday, I promptly 1) fell asleep on the couch (whoops) and 2) crawled into bed and slept all day, to counteract the couch sleeping. I’m heading to the UK next week for RARE Edinburgh (SO excited!! more info below) so this break, so far, has been filled with more rest and organization and admiring my beautiful plants.
First of all, I want to say a truly huge thank you, because Wicked Serve launched into the Top 30 (!!) on Amazon Kindle AND landed on the USA Today Bestseller List at #60! Which officially means that all four books in the series have spent time inside the Amazon Top 100 and the USAT list. I’m getting all blubbery at my computer as I type this. When I wrote and released First Down just shy of two years ago, I hoped a few people would read it and like it. You have blown my expectations out of the water again and again, and I’m so grateful for your support. Thank you for loving the Callahans like I do!
And of course, if you haven’t had a chance to read Wicked Serve yet—Izzy Callahan’s book, aka my very spicy brother’s-rival-turned-teammate sports romance that features both hockey and volleyball, it’s available now in all formats (audiobook included!) wherever books are sold. It’s also on KU in North America and the United Kingdom. Check out the tropes/microtropes below and go snag your copy!
(Also, have I mentioned he calls her “sunshine?” My poor angsty Nik.)
hang out with me: the sequel
That kind of sounds like a horror movie title, but whatever! We’re rolling with it. I have one more bookstore event tonight, and then I’ll be hopping across the pond for RARE Edinburgh next week :)
TONIGHT at Steamy Lit in Deerfield Beach, Florida, I’ll be in conversation with Ambar Cordova and then signing! If you’re in the area, there are a limited number of tix still available. The event starts at 6:30 and we would love to see you! Check it out here: https://www.steamylit.com/events/grace-reilly-wicked-serve-release-celebration
And I’m so excited to be attending RARE Edinburgh this year! This will be my first international signing, and I can’t imagine a better place to do it. Here’s all the details:
I’m signing on Saturday, the 8th. I’m table 1 (lol, literally) Lomond Suite, Level 0.
I will not have books available for purchase at my table; however, you can purchase all of my books from the on-site bookseller, Blackwell’s, or bring your own from home. I’m happy to sign anything and everything, including the indie editions.
I will have free merch at my table—stickers, bookmarks, and maybe some art cards—so please stop by even if it’s just to say hi!
you should read…
I actually managed to read while traveling! Thank you, airplanes. Here are some recent reads I enjoyed:
Married to the Alien Cowboy by Ursa Dax (the sequel is out now!) - a perfect blend of yummy alien romance and cowboy romance tropes, wrapped in a funny, wonderful bow! Also, Ursa drew the art for the cover, which is FABULOUS. I wish I was that talented.
One Wealthy Wedding by Sophia Travers - an absolutely delicious billionaire romance full of depth, banter, and sparkling tension. It’s marriage of convenience AND there’s a spice list, which makes it perfect in my book.
character art? check out my instagram!
I revealed a gorgeous piece of Nik & Izzy artwork over on my Instagram a few days ago, AND a good friend of mine recently made fanart for both James & Bex and Cooper & Penny! If character art is your thing (it’s certainly mine), head on over and join my channel (grace’s scribblings: insta’s edition) to see it all. I also posted more in-depth recaps of my tour stops!
cheers, love, and (if ykyk) plot relevant koalas 🐨 until next time!
Wicked Serve was so great!! I really think it was my favorite book in the Callahan series! This series was the one that introduced me to sports romance and got me hooked! Thank you for that!! I hope to see more sports romance books from you! Proud of you
FYI I'm signing on the 7th at RARE, not the 8th! My brain is all over the place.
